The journey this year has had many highlights, none more so than meeting remarkable men who each carry a unique treasure. Today I share with you a gift received from one of my dear new friends, Jack.
Retreat, August 2015
God loves us just because He loves us, and this fierce love cannot be contained. Intimacy with Him trumps even the best of principles, and real connection boots a clever programme into the tall grass. His primary way of explaining life to us seems to be through the picture of a healthy family : Father and Son, Bride and Bridegroom, the list goes on.
Brave Hearts
The war we wage as men of God is not a physical fight for power, sex or money. Nor is it a driving desperation to be in control. We know that is the way of this world.
In part, ours is a fight against the evil of lost identity. A battle against the lies which attempt to shroud our true purpose. In faith, we stand for the reconnection to our original selves. And the expression of our passion as sons of God.
A Letter From Dad
Ann Voskamp phrases it beautifully : “When you want the man that began you to bless you — to say that you are one of his dreams come true, that you are what he hoped for, you are his desires and love incarnated and there is nothing he will leave behind that compares to the masterpiece of you changing the world and everything coming ahead. Sometimes what you want most is your father to give you the greatest gift anyone can give someone: for him to believe in you.”
