For three and a half days, fourteen brave adventurers stepped up to the line where the light and the fire meet. It was hard and beautiful, bitter-sweet and rich, a hurricane and a gentle healing wind.
We set off on a treasure hunt for God's heart -- little did we know that we would also rediscover our own. The elaborate fig leaves we had woven as our guise had to come off -- some of these "old friends" taking skin with them as they fell. It was time to leap from the falls, knowing that He is good.
And then He came for each of us, for the hurts, for the longings, for the little boy dreams and for the grown man hunger. Through our times alone in the veld, and our celebrations together around the fire, we unveiled glimmers our true identity - the Original You. Before the foundation of this world we had a face -- thought up and loved by Papa.. He spoke to us, louder than audibly, and affirmed each man as His "favourite" son, uniquely cherished.
Thank you to everyone who prayed and worked in the background to create the space for this encounter to happen. Thanks to Mike and Don who took care of us. And thanks to each of you who trusted deeply enough to drop your mask and embrace your truest quest.
It is said that when men play games together, they become competitors. But when men go to War together, they become brothers. I am privileged to count you as family.
Jesus is seated on a white horse, and on His thigh is written “King of Kings and Lord of Lords”. Again He is calling you to mount up and ride with Him.
What would you do if you were brave?
